May 6 was a very satisfying day for me personally. My “baby” the past 2.5 years, the research for and the writing of the many drafts of my second novel, Accidental Saviors, reached a milestone: it was published by You Can’t Put It Down Books of Yardley, PA and then launched at a party at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkins Park.
Our son Luke served as faithful bookseller.
Barbara Lawson of St. John’s prepared
and served the delicious refreshments…
Lector Cindy Raff read the first chapter
to whet people’s appetites
for the remainder of the novel.
I hadn’t realized I had written such
an exciting chapter one until I heard
Cindy’s dramatic reading.
I was proud to introduce my editor and publisher
Karen Hodges Miller. Where would I have been
without her expert guidance?
I had a chance to say a few words
about my aim of inspiring readers to
goodness by telling the story of
two “accidental saviors” of the lives
of hundreds of Jews during World War II.
I hope Accidental Saviors provides many hours of
fascinating reading and sparks conversations
like this one.
